Azie Owners Opening “Elevated Asian Shake Shack” Concept in Radnor

Win Hospitality, owner of Azie in Media that specializes in sit-down Asian-fusion restaurants, is trying out a new fast-casual restaurant in Radnor its CEO is describing as an “elevated Asian Shake Shack.”

Mama-San plans to open in January at 226 N. Radnor Chester Road, taking over a 2,000 square-foot space of the recently-closed Buena Onda, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Win Hospitality has five Asian-fusion restaurants in the Philadelphia suburbs; two Blue Elephant restaurants in Wayne and Pottstown, Mikado Thai Pepper in Ardmore, Azie in Media and Teikoku in Newtown Square.

The new restaurant will have quick service options but also offer comfortable in-house dining for lunch and dinner.

It will feature a Japanese zen garden atmosphere during the day and an izakaya bar feel in the evening.

Win Hospitality’s goal is to reach lunchtime customers it misses with its other restaurants.

We’re trying to find that fine line of making it very approachable but still very intimate,” said co-CEO Paul Somboonsong.

Sushi rolls, poke bowls and other Asian-fusion dishes will be on the menu, including some fan-favorite items from Azie. Asian beer and possibly canned sake drinks and cocktails will be available.
