This far-flung Chester County farm offers visitors the chance to traverse a corn maze, pick pumpkins or take a hayride on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this season.

Hurricane Hill Farm Fall Festival
Sept. 21 – Nov. 3, Coatesville

Hurricane Hill Farm turns its cornfield into a giant maze, which visitors can attempt to traverse on weekends through Nov. 3. This year’s theme is Ancient Rome.

Apple Festival
Sept. 28, Media

Apple season reaches its peak this month, so hit the orchard and pick your own at Linvilla’s Apple Festival. There will also be a pie eating contest, live entertainment and more.

Ardmore Oktoberfest
Sept. 28, Ardmore

Ardmore Oktoberfest will transport Main Liners across the pond for its German-centric celebration on Sept. 28, complete with expanded offerings, a VIP beer garden and live entertainment.

Kennett Brewfest
Sept. 28, Kennett Square

Over 100 breweries will be pouring their seasonal suds at Kennett Brewfest on Sept. 28. Food trucks, vendors and live music round out the fun.

Downingtown Fall Fest
Sept. 29, Downingtown

Victory Brewing Company and dozens of food and craft vendors will gather on Green Street and East Pennsylvania Avenue in Downingtown for this seasonal festival.

Seasonal Rides on the West Chester Railroad
Sept. 29 – Oct. 27, West Chester

Hop aboard the West Chester Railroad for one of two seasonal train rides. The Fall Foliage Express (select dates Sept. 29-Nov. 10) takes visitors along the Chester Creek Valley for a 90-minute scenic ride. Gourds are the focus on the Great Pumpkin Express, running Oct. 26-27.

Fall Harvest at Milky Way Farm
Sept. 29 – Oct. 28, Chester Springs

Scour the patch for the perfect pumpkin and tackle a corn maze on weekends through October at this Chester Springs farm.

Blooms & Bamboo
Oct. 3 – Nov. 17, Kennett Square

Longwood Gardens added to its annual Chrysanthemum Festival this year, dubbing it Blooms & Bamboo. The exhibit celebrates the Japanese art of Ikebana Sogetsu and features a Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum.

Longwood Gardens brings even more natural beauty to Chester County. Technicolor gardens, indoor wonderlands, thick forests, peaceful meadows, elaborate fountains, winding paths and a lily pond make it a horticultural heavyweight worthy of its status as one of the world’s premier gardens.

Colonial Gardens
Oct. 4-27, Phoenixville

On select dates in October, Colonial Gardens will host hayrides and a haunted house. Through Oct. 31st, there will also be kid-friendly events like a corn maze and hayrides.

Fall Harvest Festival
Oct. 5, Glen Mills

Newlin Grist Mill’s Fall Harvest Festival takes visitors back in time to the colonial era for demonstrations of papermaking, blacksmithing and more. There will also be hayrides, pumpkin painting and games.

Narberth Oktoberfest
Oct. 5, Narberth

Head to Narberth Park for Narberth Oktoberfest, complete with food, live music and plenty of beer.

Fall Harvest Days
Oct. 5-27, Lansdale

Lansdale’s Merrymead Farm hosts its 36th annual harvest days, when visitors can pick pumpkins, squash and other gourds, plus a variety of apples. There will also be hayrides and apple cider donuts.

Freddy’s Fallfest
Oct. 5-27, Lansdale

This family-friendly spot—known for its mini golf courses, driving range and batting cages—celebrates the season on weekends in October with a cornfield maze, hayrides, a pumpkin patch and homemade ice cream.

Scarecrow Walk
Oct. 5-31, Philadelphia

The 12th annual Scarecrow Walk at Morris Arboretum is themed “Famous Musicians” and features 35 handcrafted displays throughout the grounds.

Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch
Oct. 6, Villanova

Pick a pumpkin, make a scarecrow or just enjoy the season at Radnor’s Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch at the Willows Park.

Harvest Festival
Oct. 12, Chester Springs

The Mill at Anselma hosts its annual Harvest Festival, complete with Civil War reenactors, cooking demonstrations, tours and more.

Haunted Hayride at Green Lane Park
Oct. 12, Green Lane

From 6:30-9:30 p.m., take a haunted hayride through Green Lane Park. The event includes crafts and snacks.

Oktoberfest Main Line
Oct. 12, Paoli

Good Samaritan Field in Paoli will host this year’s Oktoberfest Main Line. Benefiting the Rotary Club of the Upper Main Line, look for German cuisine, beer, live music, kid-friendly activities and pumpkin decorating.

Winetober Fest
Oct. 12, Skippack

If you want to enjoy Oktoberfest but beer isn’t your preferred beverage, the Winetober Fest is the perfect alternative. Now in its 10th year, the event features food, wine, shopping and live entertainment in Skippack Village.

Pumpkin Days
Oct. 12-13, Media

The expansive Tyler Arboretum will transform into an autumn lover’s paradise during this two-day festival, complete with scarecrow making, hayrides, an obstacle course, games, crafts, live entertainment, plus plenty of pumpkins.

Boo at the Zoo
Oct. 12-27, Philadelphia

On select dates this October, the Philadelphia Zoo will transform for Halloween. Visitors can go on a trick-or-treat safari, sip hot apple cider, meander through a hay bale maze and more during Boo at the Zoo.

Elmwood Park Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo
Oct. 12-27, Norristown

Don you Halloween costumes and head to Elmwood Park Zoo for trick-or-treating and other fun on select days in October.

Great Pumpkin Carve
Oct. 17-19, Chadds Ford

Drawing visitors from near and far, the Great Pumpkin Carve is an epic three-day celebration of the iconic jack-o-lantern. Over 70 artists will carve their giant pumpkins, which will then be displayed on the grounds of the Chadds Ford Barn Visitors Center.

Gravedigger’s Ball
Oct. 18, Philadelphia

Laurel Hill Cemetery’s 15th annual Gravedigger’s Ball will be held at the Mütter Museum and includes live music, an open bar, food and an auction. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume.

23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest
Oct. 18-19, Philadelphia

Head into the city for the fourth annual 23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest. The two-day event invokes a Munich beer hall in a sweeping 16,000-square-foot Bavarian-themed space.

All Hallow’s Eve Fall Festival
Oct. 19, Schwenksville

This historic estate—which showcases life from the early 1900s and was home to a former governor of Pennsylvania—hosts an old fashioned celebration, complete with crafts, hayrides, pumpkin painting, cider pressing and more.

Painting in Pumpkin Land

Penns Woods Winery doesn’t have just grapes on its property. This October, visitors can pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and then decorate it in fun or frightful fashion.
