Want to get some exercise in before your Thanksgiving meal? Lace up your sneakers for these turkey trots in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Celebrating Thanksgiving with a good meal is a tradition, but what about a family run to give back to the community? These turkey trots around the Main Line help raise money for those in need and will leave you feeling great before or after you dig in at dinner.

This Weekend

Narberth Cranksgiving

Saturday, November 20 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Not into running? The Narberth Cycling Club hosts the world’s largest pedal-powered food drive. Bring your own bicycle, helmet and food donations to the free event and support the Narberth Community Food Bank’s efforts to provide food for the neighborhood. This is a self-guided race, so show up anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to make it through the finish line.

Running of the Turkeys West Chester

Sunday, November 21 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

West Chester’s iconic Running of the Turkeys is back for the 11th year. Competitors carry frozen turkeys through the streets of West Chester in the one-mile fun run to then donate the birds to John DeBella’s Turkey Drop. The cost of the run will only be the donation of the turkey, and don’t forget to dress in your most festive costume!

Thanksgiving Day: November 25

6th Annual MoTown Turkey Trot

Begins at 8 a.m.

Formerly known as the North Wales Turkey Trot, the MoTown Turkey Trot is back for the sixth year with three different races for the whole family. Don’t miss the 8k, 5k, two-mile fun run/walk and the 1/2-mile kids’ fun run.

Chester County Turkey Trot

Begins at 7:45 a.m.

The 20th annual Chester County Turkey Trot is back to help raise funds to support childhood cancer research. There will be a 5k race, one-mile walk and kids’ fun run.

Downingtown West High School, 445 Manor Ave, Downingtown

Garnet Valley Turkey Trot 5k

Begins at 9 a.m.

With two different types of races, the 5k and one-mile, the Garnet Valley Turkey Trot will be giving some awesome prizes for the winners. All participants will receive a long-sleeve tech tee and chipped race bib.

Seven Summits Therapy Turkey Trot

Begins at 8:45 a.m.

Starting off with the children’s fun run and followed by the 5k, the 14th annual Seven Summits Therapy 5k Turkey Trot will benefit Austin Beltrante through Help Hope Live.

Wilson Farm Park, 500 Lee Road, Wayne

Toss Your Turkey 5K

Begins at 8:15 a.m.

The 11th annual Toss Your Turkey will donate proceeds to Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities for Feeding and Sheltering the Homeless and PGXC. Attendees will get long-sleeve tech shirts and TYT race bibs as well as 10 percent off all CCRS items.

Wayne Turkey Trot

Begins at 8 a.m.

With the choice to run, walk or trot the 5k race, participants and employees from the FS Investments firm will raise funds for multiple organizations. A t-shirt and post-race refreshments will be available.

Cardinal John Foley School Turkey Trot

Begins at 9 a.m.

After you digest your holiday meals and spirits, prepare for the 15th edition of this Turkey Trot. It will be a two-loop course through the Brookline neighborhood. All proceeds will benefit the students of the Catholic School.

Phoenixville’s Burn Off the Bird

Begins at 9:30 a.m.

The 12th year of Burn the Bird will be a 5k race on the scenic Schuykill River Trail to help you relieve your fullness after your Thanksgiving meal. The race will start and end at Renaissance Academy’s parking lot.

St. Bernadette Turkey Trot

Begins at 8:45 a.m.

Beginning with a 100-yard Dumpling Dash followed by the 5k run or walk, this will be the 13th annual St. Bernadette Turkey Trot. It is professionally chip-timed by Bryn Mawr Racing and takes you through a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood.
